In Ouffet, in the province of Liège, Galvaco specializes in ‘galvanization.’ What exactly does this mean? “Protecting metal against corrosion by dipping it in a zinc bath,” explains Jean Michel Bosson, business unit manager at Galvaco. “The zinc creates alloys and a protective layer on the steel, which means that the steel remains protected for 30 to 40 years when used outdoors. And that without the need for painting.”

What can we imagine here? “It’s very diverse,” continues Jean Michel. “We make all the guardrails you see at local authorities, barriers for bridges, but also balconies, fences, gates, enclosures, poles for street lighting… Basically all metal that is exposed to harsh weather conditions.”

A personal approach
