Pidpa chose Multi Masters Group in 2019 as its facility partner for the cleaning of its offices and its water experience centre, Hidrodoe. Last year, the water company renewed its contract with Cleaning Masters. “The start of the current framework agreement went very smoothly; the result of open communication… You can reach someone immediately when needed and that really is a major advantage,” says Cristel Smets, Team Leader Personal Facilities at Pidpa, in this testimonial.

“Besides our office in Antwerp, our registered office is located in Grobbendonk,” Cristel says. “For the production and distribution of our tap water, we rely on an impressive infrastructure of 11 water production centres, 38 water towers, 22 pumping stations and more than 13,000 kilometres of water mains. For the disposal of rainwater and wastewater, Pidpa manages more than 232,000 gullies, a ditch system of 2,543 kilometres, a sewer network of 5,427 kilometres, 1,859 individual water treatment installations and 554 pumping stations.” That’s impressive!

A sustainable match
Cristel has been working at Pidpa for 13 years and has been active as Team Leader Personal Facilities since June 2020. This department is responsible for cleaning all service buildings and offices, reception, catering during meetings, staff clothing packages, safety shoes and many other items employees need for their daily work. “My team consists of 4 permanent employees, as well as many subcontractors, including Cleaning Masters. What inspires me in my job are the personal contacts I build, both internally and externally. The variety in my job ensures that I start each day with great enthusiasm.”
Pidpa invests in sustainable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, minimises waste and residual materials and recycles wherever possible. “We do everything we can to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. In our activities, we take the environment and surrounding nature into account. The cleaning teams also work with sustainable materials that are strictly checked by our environmental coordinator. We have very strict requirements in this area, but Cleaning Masters meets them completely. When they present a new product, they always explain it using a technical sheet,” Cristel explains.

“Pidpa works with a public tendering system, where offers are assessed on several criteria. These criteria include price, approach, working method and attitude towards sustainability and the environment. It is this total package that led to choosing Cleaning Masters.”
Immediate replacement
“If we ask or report something, action is taken immediately and it is resolved very quickly. That is the advantage of smooth communication. And when someone falls ill, a replacement is arranged right away,” says Cristel.
“The contact with the regional manager, the administration and the supervisors is always humane, open, understanding and very pleasant. You receive feedback immediately and the cooperation runs very well.” Cleaning Masters has been working at Pidpa since 2019. At the beginning of 2024, the contract was renewed. “I am very happy that we can continue working with them.”

Robots in Hidrodoe
Hidrodoe in Herentals is Pidpa’s interactive water centre, where young and old discover the value, importance and future of water. Cleaning Masters is also active here. “Hidrodoe is a special location to clean,” Cristel explains. “In the past, everything was cleaned manually, but now robots are also used in the large rooms. This gives the cleaning masters extra time to thoroughly clean other spaces and exhibits.”
“Hidrodoe welcomes around 55,000 visitors each year. So the centre needs to be in perfect condition every day. It is not a standard office building: many visitors, especially children, walk around and test all the exhibits. Visitors often walk in and out, so it is quite a challenge to clean. But the results delivered by Cleaning Masters are always good,” says Cristel.
“Another challenge for Cleaning Masters is the location. Hidrodoe is quite remote, which makes it difficult to find cleaning staff. But even then, we can rely on Cleaning Masters,” Cristel says confidently. “They are aware that Hidrodoe is our showpiece. It is our business card and we expect it to be in order, and we are always satisfied.”
